Eulexin Medication - Uses Side Effects

Eulexin belongs to a class of drugs known as antiandrogens. It blocks the effect of the male hormone testosterone. It is a type of hormonal therapy. Hormonal therapies interfere with the production or action of particular hormones in the body. If you are taking Eulexin with Lupron, then it may reduced the body's testosterone levels.

EulexinDosage

• Take flutamide capsules by mouth. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Swallow the capsules with a drink of water.
• Do not take your medicine more often than directed.
• This medication is best taken at evenly spaced intervals, and may be taken with or without food.
• Do not stop taking this medication without your doctor's permission.

Uses of Eulexin

• This drug is commonly used in prostatic cancer since testosterone will accelerate the cancer.
• It is commonly used with leuprolide to treat prostate cancer.
• Some have advocated this drug to be used in sexual offenders as a way to decrease testerone levels.

Side Effects of Eulexin

• Side effects that you should report to your prescriber or health care professional as soon as possible:
• dark yellow or brown urine
• vomiting
• yellowing of the eyes or skin
• diarrhea
• nausea

Warnings and precautions before taking Eulexin:

• Contents of the capsule may be opened and mixed with a soft food such as applesauce. Mixing with a liquid is not recommended.
• In general, drinking alcoholic beverages should be kept to a minimum or avoided completely. You should discuss this with your doctor.
• Report any signs or symptoms that might suggest liver damage to your doctor right away. Warning signs include dark urine, itching, flu-like symptoms, jaundice (a yellowing of the skin and eyes), persistent appetite loss, and persistent tenderness on the right side of the upper abdomen.

Drug Interaction :-

Interactions between EULEXIN Capsules and LHRH-agonists have not occurred. Increases in prothrombin time have been noted in patients receiving warfarin therapy.
