Home Remedies for Tuberculosis

  1. Tuberculosis can affect any part of the body, not necessarily the chest.
  2. Reduction of weight with or without persistent cough, fever, associated chest pain, loss of appetite, blood with sputum etc. are very simple diagnostic signs for a layman. One should rush for investigations as soon as you notice them.
  3. Consultation with a doctor and regular treatment as advised cures the patient.
  4. Rest and patience are best for such patients. Recovery is difficult without both.
  5. Diet has to be very carefully monitored. Maximum amount of fruits, dry fruits, milk, vegetables, and non-vegetarian items should be included in the diet.
  6. Spicy, fried and heavy meals should be avoided.
  7. Intercourse is strictly prohibited in such patients, because energy is lost to a considerable extent, decreasing immunity.
  8. Honey, dates, raisins, ghee taken in any form are very useful.
  9. Alcohol is also recommended but only after consultation with a doctor.
  10. Boil two pieces of garlic in 250 gms of milk. When one-third the milk is left, cool it, chew the garlic and drink the milk at night or in the morning, regularly for one or two months.
  11. Garlic rolled in grape if eaten three times for four days removes stomach worm and cures high blood pressure also. But this should be taken in lesser amounts in case of burning sensation in any part of the body.
  12. Boil one fruit of date palm (Latin name, Phoenix dactylifera) in 250 gms of mill at night. Take out the seed of the fruit and chew it nicely and then drink the millk with added sugar candy. It is very useful for TB patients.
