Home Remedies for Piles
- Soak two dry figs in water in the evening and eat them on an empty stomach in the morning. Also soak two figs in the morning and eat them in the evening. Do not take anything one hour before and after this. Bleeding and non-bleeding piles are cured within eight days.
- A constipation reliever, prune makes the intestinal mucous lining soft, preventing piles.
- Spiegel seeds also relieve constipation when taken along with water. They swell up inside the intestine and push the stool out, since they contain excessive fibre.
- Buttermilk with one-fourth teaspoonful of powdered Sprague and one gram of black salt helps in treating piles.
- Juice from the leaves of bitter gourd (karela) taken with buttermilk is very helpful in piles.
- For local application: Dissolve camphor in eight times warm castor oil. After passing stools wash the anal area, wipe it and apply this oil on the piles and rub it smoothly so that it gets absorbed inside.
- In a late stage of piles take curd, rice and green pulses only. Use clarified butter. Do not let the stools harden. Avoid excessive spices, pickles, and heavy products.\
- In bleeding piles one should use raw onion along with curd and buttermilk.
- Half-cup onion juice with sugar taken twice daily for a few days cures bleeding piles.
- It is useful to eat half a kilo of papaya one hour after meals.
- Beetroot is very useful for stomach ailments. It increases appetite and cures constipation, as wastes do not stick to the walls of the intestine due to the cellulose in it.
- Eat radish or drink 25-50 grams of its juice daily for a few days.
- The best and cheap way to treat piles: Make ash of coconut hair; sieve with a cloth. Take three grams thrice a day on an empty stomach with a cup of curd or buttermilk, which is not sour, for only one day. Both types of piles are cured by this method. If necessary another dose may be taken. The treatment is also useful for white discharge from the vagina, cholera, vomiting, hiccups and the like. In such cases, take one gram of this with a sip of water.
