Home Remedies for Fibroid Tumours
- These are benign (non-cancerous) tumours or growths of muscles and connective tissue, which occur in 25-30% of women over 30.
- These tumours occur only as long as women a:e menstruating. They regress after menopause.
- Birth control pills are responsible for their accelerated growth. Women having excessive bleeding or other pressure symptoms should get examined first and then start the pill.
- A patient having fibroid tumour may press against the urinary bladder and limit the amount of urine the bladder can effectively hold. This may create increased frequency of urine and the patient may get irritated. A fibroid may aggravate constipation or interfere with normal stool evacuation by pressing against the walls of the rectum. If the tumour presses against the back it may cause backache. The common symptom of a fibroid is increased vaginal blood flow. Bleeding can occur profusely during the menstrual periods and the interval of two menstrual cycles may be shortened. The duration of flow increases to 7-10 days. This excessive loss of blood leads to exhaustion and anaemia. Sometimes the patient may go into shock. Seldom there may be pain if the growth or tumour takes a twist.
- Sometimes the tumour may shrink on its own. Else, it is necessary to consult a doctor and have yourself examined and treated.
